Enrolment Guidelines

The College accepts student enrolments with the aim of:
- Catering for families in the Dubbo region who desire Catholic coeducation.
- Welcoming Catholic students from the rich cultural, religious, aboriginal and ethnic heritage within the area.
- Providing equity of access to St Johns College for students seeking education in the Catholic tradition and who are supportive of Catholic ideals and principles.

Guidelines
Priority is given to applicants in the following order:
1.  Students, both Catholic and non-Catholic, currently enrolled in Catholic Primary feeder schools, as well as Catholic families from State schools in isolated areas where Catholic primary education is not available.
2.  Catholic students from Catholic schools outside the region (2 places shall be reserved for families in this situation transferring to Dubbo).
3.  Catholic students from State and other non-Catholic schools who currently have siblings in the College.
4.  Catholic students in the State and other non-Catholic systems who can demonstrate recent involvement in Parish life.
5.  Other Catholic students from non-Catholic schools.
6.  (a) Non-Catholic students from Catholic and non-Catholic schools who currently have siblings in the College.
     (b) Non-Catholic students who are currently enrolled in Catholic schools, other than local feeder schools.
7.  Non-Catholic students from State schools who are actively involved in their own religious tradition and are able to fully support the Catholic ethos.
8.  Non-Catholic students from State and other school systems with no particular religious affiliation.

In all of the above the discretion of the Principal in consultation with the Parish Priest is to apply where appropriate.

Capital Works Levy: This levy is set by the Bathurst Diocese and funds new Diocesan building projects, as well as servicing existing loans for the schools in the Diocese. $270 per family.

Application Fee: An Application Fee of $80.00 (for Year 7 enrolments) and $50.00 (for Year 8-12 enrolments) is payable when the application for enrolment is lodged with the school. This fee must be paid for the application to proceed to enrolment.

B) EXCURSIONS: SMALL GROUPS / SPORTING EVENTS

The cost is based on the maximum number of students attending to cover the cost.

Sporting Teams: Parents must sign a contract to acknowledge they are aware their child is to try out for sporting teams and there will be costs involved if they are selected to represent St Johns College.

Payment: Money and a completed permission slip are put into a yellow payment envelope and paid to the College Shoppe. Money should not be given to individual staff but always paid direct to the College Shoppe.

Lost or Destruction of College Property
Loss or destruction of school property will be charged to the individual concerned. This may be invoiced from the school or added to school fees.
